Frankfort Transit Superintendent Betty Burriss has resigned, but the reason for her departure is still unclear.
Randy Donahue, director of human resources for the city, said Tuesday that Burriss submitted a resignation letter – effective July 31 – that would be presented to the City Commission at its Aug. 13 meeting.
Donahue declined to discuss the contents of the letter. The State Journal filed an Open Records request Tuesday for the letter and other documents.
Burriss could not be reached for comment by press time.
She began her career in transportation 25 years ago as a driver for Fulton County Transit. She has been employed by Frankfort Transit since 1993 and was promoted to superintendent in 2006.
