A Frankfort woman was arrested Saturday morning for allegedly driving under the influence with her 3-year-old and 5-year-old grandchildren in the car.
Frankfort police charged Joan Wolfe, 53, with DUI first offense, two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment and two counts of failure to use child restraint devices, according to Capt. Rob Warfel.
He said operating a vehicle under the influence while carrying a passenger under the age of 12 is considered an aggravating circumstance that enhances penalties.
Warfel said an officer saw Wolfe driving erratically while pulling into Juniper Hill Park around 11:30 a.m. The report states she failed all field sobriety tests, but Warfel said he didn’t know what exact substance she might have been under the influence of.
“In his report, (the officer) did state she stated she was currently using Suboxone.”
Suboxone is used to treat opiate dependence.
