Cold winter weather combined with rising utility costs leaves many households unable to fully meet heating bills or purchase sufficient bulk fuel to keep their families safe and warm.
Blue Grass Community Action Partnership begins offering help through the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program Jan. 13. The program operates on a first come, first served basis until March 31 or until federal funds are exhausted.
Last year, more than 511 Franklin County residents received financial assistance and emergency services from the program.
For information about eligibility criteria and an application, contact Blue Grass Community Action Partnership at 502-695-5615 or visit 73 C. Michael Davenport Blvd. Hours are 8 a.m. to noon Monday through Thursday.
The program is a statewide initiative sponsored by Community Action Kentucky in partnership with the Cabinet for Health and Family Services.
