A 30-year-old Frankfort woman died this morning when she lost control of her vehicle.
According to a Kentucky State Police report, Melissa L. Eastman, 5134 Georgetown Road, was traveling east on U.S. 460 when she lost control of her 1995 Jeep in a curve and slid sideways into the embankment, overturning several times. The Jeep came to rest on its roof on U.S. 460 at Ravencrest Apartments, the report said.
Rebecca Metts, 29 and also of Frankfort, was a passenger in Eastman's vehicle. Police reported she was injured and airlifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. UK reported Metts was discharged today.
Alcohol is suspected to have played a role in the accident, according to the KSP accident report. Both women were reported to have been wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
Services for Eastman are pending at the Harrod Brothers Funeral Home.
