Resolutions bring many to exercise

When the bingeing on holiday treats is over and you find your clothing bursting at the seams, the next part of the grand tradition usually is to make New Year's resolutions to get into shape.

Every January, Dottie O'Keefe, general manager of the Frankfort Athletic Center, and Leslie Gray, YMCA fitness and membership director, see people who resolve to start exercising.

Steve Halvachs, a staff member at Frankfort Athletic Club, said he still remembers his first night on the job during the New Year's rush.

"I worked the first Monday in January and it was insane," Halvachs said. "There must have been 30 people in here waiting to fill out contracts."
