Thursday's chilly, slick weather created some icy havoc for Frankfort motorists, resulting in a barrage of minor traffic accidents throughout the city.
But local drivers weren't the only ones grappling with dangerous roadways. Traffic and accident problems persisted as snow accumulated quickly throughout the state.
As of 11 p.m. Thursday, 13 minor traffic accidents had been reported to Frankfort Police - mostly drivers sliding into one another attempting to navigate roads.
Lt. Jeff Rogers said there were no major accidents reported Thursday, but one person who was involved in an accident on Martin Luther King Boulevard had to be transported to the hospital for a possible head injury.
Rogers said most accidents occurred between 1 and 7:15 p.m. He said the majority of accidents took place when state government employees were let out of work early, creating a rush of traffic at the same time snow began to fall.
