Snow has schools out again

Last weekend's unseasonably warm weather could seem a faraway dream with temperatures predicted to drop into the single digits tonight.

And more bad weather could be on the way, according to the National Weather Service. Occasional light snow was expected to last throughout the morning, tapering off to flurries this afternoon.

Temperatures could be as low as 8 degrees by this evening, the weather service reported. Today's high is near 30 degrees.

With temperatures that cold, it is always a good idea to use extra caution, says David Gipson, street superintendent for the city Public Works Department.

Wet spots on roads and sidewalks could refreeze, creating slick, hazardous areas for drivers and pedestrians, Gipson said.
