Complaint filed vs. dog officer

By GAYLE COULTER State Journal Staff Writer Published:

Tammy Tyson said she was horrified Monday when she saw a Frankfort animal control officer attempt to run over a dog with his truck in the Holmes Street and Thornhill area.

Tyson said she tried to block Otis Loman's truck after she saw him run over what appeared to be a white German Shepherd.

"He was meaning to hit the dog," Tyson said in a written complaint filed Monday with the Frankfort Police Department. "He ran the dog down with his truck. I could see the dog's legs under his truck, and the dog was digging the blacktop. I could see the dog on its side and he just kept running it down."

Tyson said she tried to block Loman's truck from continuing across the street to where the dog had run.

Frankfort Police spokesman Steve Clark confirmed that the department received Tyson's complaint.

Clark said Loman did not want to comment on the complaint.
