Developers air concerns on new rules

By BETH CRACE State Journal Staff Writer Published:

Some local developers turned out Thursday to share concerns and learn more about new subdivision regulations proposed for Frankfort and Franklin County.

From green space requirements to where utilities will go, local business people and builders expressed a broad range of views on the regulations. Eight representatives were in attendance at a workshop at City Hall.

Developers were not entirely opposed to the new regulations.

But the problem, according to one builder, is consuming the entire proposal - a lengthy document which lays out regulations for subdivision and site development plans in urban, suburban and rural areas.

"It's 190 pages of new regulations," said Dave Cobbs, a developer and builder. "It's kind of a massive amount to deal with."
