Murder suspect indicted, out on bond

Dennis Hall, 18, was indicted Wednesday by a Franklin County grand jury for murder following the shooting death of his father, Dennis Griffin.

Hall was released on bond after he was indicted according to Franklin County Commonwealth's Attorney Larry Cleveland.

Hall's grandfather, Louis Hall, pledged all of his real estate holdings as bond for Hall's release which amounted to less than the original $200,000 cash bond, Cleveland said.

Rodney D. Barnes, directing attorney with the Commonwealth Department of Public Advocacy who is one of Hall's attorneys, said this morning he was astonished at the speed in which Cleveland put the case before the grand jury.

"I was rather appalled he would present this to a grand jury as a murder charge less than 48 hours after," Barnes said. "I was shocked and dismayed by the speed this case was rammed through the system. I don't know of any case of this kind that I've been on that's been before the grand jury within 48 hours."
