The Rotary Club begins each meeting with a "four-part test," the first part of which questions the truth of something.
John Voskuhl, assistant managing editor for projects at the Lexington Herald-Leader, invoked those four parts in discussing two institutions that have recently been under fire - politicians and the media - at the Frankfort Rotary Club meeting Wednesday.
Voskuhl said a lot of negative ads have been aired during the Democratic gubernatorial primary.
"I do not criticize negative campaign commercials," Voskuhl said, "as long as they are truthful and as long as who is advertising them is made clear."
Attorney General Ben Chandler claims opponent Bruce Lunsford ran a nursing home that threw out Medicare patients for those who had higher-paying insurance, while Lunsford claims Chandler is taking contributions from special interest groups.
