Home team loses, local fans still cheer winners

It was the Flyers' court and Flyer fans, but the attraction was definitely the other team.

Even Lewis Morris, the coach of Franklin County's boys basketball team, sported a shirt favoring the opponent.

"You've got to support Kentucky," said Morris, who's coached the Franklin County Flyers the past two years.

A group of Franklin County former players rallied together to take on the likes of Jeff Sheppard, Allen Edwards and Cameron Mills from the 1998 UK championship team, along with one of the biggest stars - literally - from this year's Wildcats, 6-11 Jules Camara.

The game, Morris said, is part of a barnstorming tour to showcase the seniors, as well as some of the older UK players. The games also serve as a fund-raiser for local high schools.

"It gives people the opportunity to see them that might not be able to get to Rupp Arena," said Morris.
