Troubles continue for May

Herman May has been arrested again, the fifth time since his release from prison on a rape charge of which he has now been officially cleared.

May was arrested shortly after midnight on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, according to a Frankfort Police report.

May was stopped for speeding at 12:42 a.m. for traveling 48 miles per hour in a 35 mph zone on Schenkel Lane at Country Hills when the officer smelled alcohol, according to the police report.

A beer bottle was in the back seat and a cooler with one beer inside was in the car, police reported. May's breathalyzer test indicated he had a .088, the report said.

At press time, May was being held at the Franklin County Regional jail on a $2,000 full cash bond. Because arraignments are not held on Fridays, it will be Monday before he will appear in Franklin District Court.
