Local CPA dies in Scott County cycle accident

State Journal Staff Report Published:

A 46-year-old Frankfort accountant was killed in a motorcycle accident Friday in Scott County.

David G. Eddins, a local CPA who lived on Justice Lane, died instantly, according to Scott County Coroner John Goble, after he failed to negotiate a curve on U.S. 460 and struck an oncoming vehicle.

Goble said Eddins had apparently owned the motorcycle for only a day according to a check receipt found at the scene indicating Eddins purchased the cycle the day before he died.

Although Eddins was wearing a full-face helmet, Goble said, the impact was fatal.

The driver of the other vehicle, whom Goble could not identify, was taken to Georgetown Hospital.
