Designer's comments: My inspiration was Frankfort and the Kentucky scenes, which I have painted over the last 30 years. It was a pleasure to do the Kentucky Landscape Quilt knowing it was for a noble cause. Years ago, I had the idea of making an image-quilt of Kentucky, and there was always something else more pressing to do. When the call came for the benches, I didn't have to think what will be on it, it was the quilt.

After priming the surface, I used acrylic paints because they dry fast. Second step, I did a complete pencil drawing. Since there was limited time available and I had other commission work to do, the images on the drawing were reduced. The third step: transferring the images and painting it gently with basic rocker. Fourth step: the painting itself and finally the protective coating.
