Owners of the prospective site for a Cracker Barrel are continuing their efforts to bring the popular restaurant to Frankfort, simultaneously pursuing a zone change and court appeal.
A zone change for the property - 10 acres in eastern Franklin County - has earned approval once before, but in May was shot down by an appeals court. Now attorneys representing the property owners are seeking an opinion from the state Supreme Court on the matter.
In addition, property owners John and Lewis Bizzack have refiled for a zone change from Professional Office to Highway Commercial for 10.3 acres at the southwest quadrant of Interstate 64 and Versailles Road.
"In other words, we're traveling both roads," said attorney William E. Johnson, who represents the Bizzacks.
The matter will likely go before the Frankfort-Franklin County Planning Commission next month, according to Johnson.
If Supreme Court doesn't hear case, the zone change already will be moving through the development process.
