Sawyier drama based on Nettie Glenn book

By CHARLES PEARL State Journal Staff Writer Published:

Frankfort's John Glenn knows his wife would have been elated to see the words of her book come to life on stage.

"And I know I will be thrilled," he said Wednesday in his Meadow Lane home, holding a scrapbook of complimentary letters to his late wife, Nettie Glenn, after her first book was published in 1974.

Titled Love To All, Your Paul, Nettie Glenn's biographical novel of nature artist Paul Sawyier comes alive Aug. 22, 23 and 24 at the scenic High Bridge Pavilion in Jessamine County.

Performances for "The Paul Sawyier Story," a 90-minute drama based on Nettie Glenn's book, will be 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $15 for reserved seats, $10 for general admission and $5 for children.

John Glenn, who granted permission for the drama group to create the play from his wife's book, will be attending Saturday's performance with a daughter, three grandsons and their wives.
