Following a guilty plea earlier this month to a string of minor charges, Herman May is suspected of breaking the law again.
May, who gained notoriety last year after he was freed from prison on the basis of DNA evidence in a rape case, was arrested Monday on domestic violence charges.
The 31-year-old Frankfort man was charged with fourth-degree assault for allegedly shoving his girlfriend down and jumping on top of her, seemingly striking her, according to a report.
News of May's latest legal entanglement came as no shock to Commonwealth Attorney Larry Cleveland, who fought to keep May behind bars.
"Wow, what a surprise," Cleveland quipped.
