Even quiet neighborhoods aren't immune to a little vandalism and theft.
South Frankfort's Little Market and the First Church of Christ Scientist have been targeted by neighborhood vandals and thieves over the past year.
"It's been a real nuisance," said Mary Charlton Hulette, a member of the church and its board of directors. "It's not right. You shouldn't have to put up with (vandalism) and pay expenses like that. I mean, it's trouble."
Hulette said the Little Market, a small organic grocery store which reopened last fall but dates back to the 1890s, and the church have been targeted by vandals and she's fed up. The two structures are located side-by-side at the corner of Todd and Logan streets.
Within a month and a half of each other the market and church were burglarized. The Little Market was hit July 7, when someone broke into the store and took the cash register and $1,000. Representatives from the church reported to Frankfort Police Aug. 20, they too had been burglarized.
