Weather blamed for I-64 pileup

Published:

Kentucky State Police cited rain as the cause of multiple accidents that occurred Saturday near the 54-mile marker of Interstate-64 east. The driver of this vehicle hydroplaned, lost control, went into the median and came to a stop off the side of the road, according to Trooper Derran Broyles who worked the accident. Both the driver and the passenger, whose names were unavailable at press time, were transported by ambulance to Frankfort Regional Medical Center for treatment, Broyles said. Two other accidents occurred within minutes of the first near the 54-mile marker. The drivers of those two vehicles were not injured.
