Franklin Fiscal Court appointed 11 county residents living outside the city limits to the Frankfort/Franklin County Merger Study Commission Thursday. Of the 11, eight are Democrats, six are males, and all are white.
Before making the appointments, Fiscal Court went into closed session at the start of the regular meeting to discuss the 39 applicants interested in serving on the commission. An earlier closed session, to discuss the same issue, was held at the last Fiscal Court meeting.
