The Frankfort Electric and Water Plant could have two new board members soon, as Mayor Bill May is contemplating replacing both the board chairman and another longtime member.
The four-year terms of Bruce Dungan, plant board chairman, and fellow board member James Liebman expired Tuesday. May said Thursday he is undecided as to whether he will replace Dungan and Liebman, but acknowledged he is considering appointing two new members.
Reached by telephone, Dungan, who was first appointed to the board in 1980, said he hadn't discussed his appointment with the mayor. He said he would like to be reappointed to the board, but was leaving the decision up to May.
"I've never talked to him about the plant board - period," said Dungan. "I'm not going to go begging for it, I'll put it that way. If he wants to reappoint me, I'll do the best I can. That's where I'll leave it."
May declined to comment on why he is considering replacing Dungan and Liebman. He said he doesn't have any candidates in mind to replace either.
