Local man charged with murder

A 24-year-old Frankfort man was killed Monday night during an altercation with his father in Frankfort's third murder case for the year.

According to a press release from Frankfort City Police, Brian T. Batdorff, of 416 Holmes St., was pronounced dead at Franklin County Regional Medical Center after being shot in the abdomen by his father in an incident at his home.

Batdorff was shot with a handgun around 10:17 p.m. Monday. Alcohol and/or drugs may have played a role in the dispute, according to the police report.

The victim's father, Harold Batdorff, 44, of 505 Owenton Ave., was arrested and charged with murder today, according to Frankfort Police spokesman Steve Clark.

Det. Dale Roberts is investigating the case.

Batdorff is being held at the Franklin County Regional Jail.

He was arraigned this morning in Franklin District Court before Judge Thomas Wingate, who set his bond at $100,000 cash.

A trial date has not been set.
