Graham to run for another term

State Journal Staff Report Published:

State Rep. Derrick Graham, a Democrat representing Franklin County, has announced his intention to seek re-election to the 57th District House seat.

Graham, a teacher at Frankfort High School, was elected to his first term in the state House of Representatives in November 2002, following a lengthy tenure on Frankfort's City Commission.

A longtime educator in the Frankfort Independent School System, Graham said he will continue his efforts to strengthen Franklin County and promote the area as a quality place for families to live and work.

"In this short amount of time, I feel like I have been able to articulate successfully the values and concerns of the people of Franklin County," Graham said in a press release. "I've worked hard to secure state funding for numerous projects that have strengthened our community's infrastructure, and I will continue to concentrate a great deal of energy to protecting and promoting the work of state employees in our area."

Graham said he is prepared for the challenge of protecting the rights of state workers as the new administration deals with Kentucky's budget shortfall.
