The finer points of ambulance-driving

Training officer Lewis McClain gave course directions to Frankfort firefighter/medic Mike Felty Wednesday at Capitol View Park. Felty, a new employee with the Frankfort Fire Department, was taking the mandatory driving course. "Contrary to popular belief, an ambulance is more than just a van," McClain said. Measuring 22 feet long with a rear overhang of six feet, the ambulance involves a lot of mirror-based driving skills, according to McClain.
