Dunn, True, Allen appointed to state posts Gov. Steve Beshear appointed Verona C. "Ronnie" Dunn, of Frankfort, to the Kentucky Commission on Community Volunteerism and Service. Dunn is a retired employee of state government and will serve for a term expiring Jan. 3, 2011. Beshear appointed Julie True to the Personnel Board to serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending Jan. 1, 2012. True, of Frankfort, is a retired employee of state government. Beshear reappointed Charles L. Allen, of Frankfort, to the Kentucky Office for the Blind State Rehabilitation Council for a term expiring June 30, 2011. Allen is a partner of Allen's Management Services and president of the National Federation of the Blind of Kentucky. Voter registration deadline Monday If Kentuckians want to participate in the upcoming general election on Nov. 4, they have until Monday to make sure they are registered to vote. County Clerks' offices throughout Kentucky will accept voter registration cards until the close of business Monday. A postmark of Oct. 6 is also required for all mail-in voter registration applications. Registration cards can be obtained over the Internet at www.vote.ky.gov/register. Also, minors who are 17 years old but will be 18 years old on or before Election Day are eligible to register and entitled to vote in the upcoming election. Additionally, Kentucky Secretary of State Trey Grayson also said voters need to update their voter registration if they moved recently so that they are allowed to vote on Election Day. If citizens are unsure whether they have registered to vote or uncertain as to where they will vote, they can view all of that information online through the Voter Information Center, which can be accessed at www.vote.ky.gov/vic
