Beshear appoints 4 from Frankfort to boards

Gov. Steve Beshear has made several appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions, including four from Frankfort.

Dr. Steve Davis, of Frankfort, was appointed to the Kentucky Radon Program Advisory Committee. He’s the acting commissioner for the Kentucky Department for Public Health and represents the department by virtue of his office.

Betty C. Whittaker, of Frankfort, was appointed to the High Performance Buildings Advisory Committee. She’s the executive director of Kentucky Manufactured Housing Institute and represents the agency.

Robert Bauer, of Frankfort, was also appointed to the High Performance Buildings Advisory Committee. He’s the executive director of the Kentucky Forest Industries Association and represents the association. 

Both Whittaker and Bauer will serve terms that expire Aug. 22.

W. Maurice Brown, of Frankfort, was appointed to the Kentucky African-American Heritage Commission. Brown is the administrative branch manager for the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control under the Public Protection Cabinet and represents the public at large.

His term will expire Feb. 1, 2016.
