Slick roads send car into tree

A woman was sent to the hospital after her car slid off a slush-covered Franklin County road today and hit a tree, according to the Franklin County’s Sheriff’s Office.

The woman, whose identity was not immediately available, was driving her Toyota Corolla on Sulphur Lick Road in Peaks Mill when she rounded a curve and slid off the roadway around 8:10 a.m.

The front passenger side of her Corolla struck a tree near the road.

She walked away from the wreck, according to emergency crews at the scene, and an ambulance took her to Frankfort Regional Medical Center. The extent of her injuries is unknown.
