Former Scott Co. deputy arrested after 6-month investigation

State Journal Staff Report Published:

Kentucky State Police today arrested a former Scott County sheriff’s deputy after a six-month investigation, according to police.

Jeremy Day is charged with six counts of theft of a controlled substance and one count of theft by unlawful taking, according to a state police press release.

On Sept. 11, 2011, Scott County Sheriff Tony Hampton requested the state police investigate an internal complaint, the release says. A Scott County grand jury handed down an indictment Tuesday with the seven charges.

Day is lodged at Scott County Detention Center, the release says.

More details will be reported as soon as they are made available by KSP.
