Hospital names doctor, nurse of the year

Frankfort Regional Medical Center recently announced Dr. Chad Ahn, a board certified otolaryngologist with Ear, Nose and Throat Specialists in Frankfort, as 2012 “Physician of the Year” and nurse Gina Purcell as 2012 “Nurse of the Year” at the hospital’s ninth annual “Nursing Year In Review” at the Frankfort Country Club.

Nurse Karen Wooldridge was named “Nursing Leader of the Year,” and nurse Lisa Scott was named “Nursing Rookie of the Year.”

The awards were developed in 2004 to recognize quality physicians and nurses who demonstrate collaboration, a drive for excellence, charity and passion for delivering care to patients. Both nursing and medical staff nominates and votes on each of the awards. The Nursing Leader of the Year and Rookie of the Year awards were added in 2009 to recognize a member of the nursing leadership team and a nurse fewer than two years into their nursing career.

“Dr. Ahn, Ms. Purcell, Ms. Wooldridge and Ms. Scott are caring professionals who have served the hospital and our community,” hospital CEO Chip Peal said. “We are fortunate to have them as a part of our team.”
