Police say gunshot claims in Bellepoint Wednesday unfounded

State Journal staff report

Frankfort Police say complaints about gunshots fired Wednesday night in Bellepoint were unfounded and there were no injuries.

Around 7:30 p.m., Frankfort Police responded to a complaint of two men arguing and possible gunshots, said Maj. Fred Deaton. Neighbors said a man ran out of a house yelling that he’d been shot.

Police arrived at the scene on Dabney Street, blocked off the street, questioned the occupants of the house, and found the complaint was unfounded after a 20-minute investigation, Deaton said.

The men were cuffed at the scene, neighbors said, but no one was charged.
