UPDATE: Man taken to hospital after crashing into wall

State Journal Staff Report Published:

A Frankfort man was taken to the hospital Thursday after emergency officials said he drove his van onto a sidewalk and hit a wall.

Robert Lines, 90, turned left onto Mero Street, a one-way, from Wilkinson Boulevard around 4:30 p.m. and into oncoming traffic. Lines hit a 2002 Toyota Corolla driven by 29-year-old Sarah Williams, of Lexington, on the left side said Frankfort Police Maj. Fred Deaton.

The impact sent Lines’ minivan, a 2006 Town and Country Crystler, into a barrier wall on Mero Street, Deaton said. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Lines was taken to Frankfort Regional Medical Center with minor injuries to his leg, and Williams refused medical treatment, Frankfort Fire Lt. Jeff Brooks said at the scene.
