Lawrenceburg daycare worker fired, allegedly drunk on job

State Journal staff report Published:

A Lawrenceburg daycare worker was arrested Monday for allegedly being drunk at work.

Gina York, who worked at Cradle to Crayons, was falling asleep while caring for an infant on the job, co-workers told Lawrenceburg police. They described her as unsteady on her feet with glassy eyes and slurred speech.

She blew .038 on a Breathalyzer test, and police arrested her outside the daycare. The Anderson News reports York was immediately fired from Cradle to Crayons.

WLEX reports York was arrested again Tuesday night for public intoxication in Lawrenceburg. The station reports she was intoxicated and staggering, and police found a bottle of tequila in her purse.
