Stephanie Decker, the Frankfort native who lost both her legs while protecting her kids from a tornado in Henryville, Ind., has been in the spotlight since her March 2 heroics.
Now, Decker and her family will appear on The Today Show Friday morning to share her story of love and perseverance.
As an EF-4 tornado approached, Decker threw her body and a comforter over her son Dominque and daughter Reese.
Decker told her daughter they were playing hide and seek and tried to remain calm.
"When that beam fell on my leg, I didn't scream. I didn't yell. I didn't cry. I did not want them to see their mom in that much pain," she said.
