Wreck sends 1 to hospital

State Journal Staff Report Published:

A driver of a pickup collided with another vehicle around 2 p.m. Monday, sending one woman to the hospital and snarling traffic at a busy intersection.

The pickup’s driver, 62-year-old Willard Cole of Frankfort, attempted to make a left turn off U.S. 127 onto Louisville Road when he collided with a car traveling south on U.S. 127, Lt. Ken Hopkins of Frankfort Police said.

The driver of that car – 65-year-old Linda Slaughter, also of Frankfort – was taken to Frankfort Regional Medical Center, Hopkins said.

The accident is still under investigation, but Hopkins said it appeared Slaughter had the right-of-way and that Cole turned on a red arrow.

Traffic on Louisville Road slowed in both directions as one eastbound and one westbound lane were temporarily closed to clear the wreckage.
