NO CHANGE FOR CITY GARBAGE PICK UP OVER FOURTH OF JULY
There will be no change to the city’s trash and recycling pick up on July 4. The city asks those who have Wednesday as their trash collection day to place their garbage and recycling carts at the curb by 7 a.m.

HITCHCOCK CLASSIC AT GRAND
“North by Northwest,” Alfred Hitchcock’s classic movie from 1959, is the next offering in the Summer Classic Film Series at the Grand Theatre, 308 St. Clair St. It will be shown at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Tickets are $6 each.

ESTATE SALE TO BENEFIT WOMEN'S SHELTER
The Franklin County Women’s Shelter is having a month-long estate sale at 624 Shelby St. This is a one-of-a-kind sale featuring women’s clothing, shoes, accessories, household items, patio furniture, artwork and tools. All proceeds benefit the Women’s Shelter.
The grand opening is July 7 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The sale continues on Saturdays, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday (beginning July 10) from noon-6 p.m., throughout the month of July. DONATE AIR CONDITIONERS AND FANS
Due to the heat, Blue Grass Community Action Partnership is asking for donations of new or gently used air-conditioners and fans, or monetary donations to purchase these items.
There is a waiting list of over 30 families and no more funds to purchase cooling items. According to BGCAP, there are no government funds are available to help.
The air conditioners will be given to the elderly or those with a doctor’s statement. Families with infant children will also be considered. To make a donation, call Sharon West at 695-5615. Checks can be mailed to Blue Grass Community Action Partnership, 73 C. Michael Davenport Blvd.,
FIS BOARD TO MEET THURSDAY
The Frankfort Independent School Board of Education will meet Thursday at 6 p.m., 506 W. Second St.
Items on the agenda include a discussion/approval of the treasurer’s report and a discussion of Superintendent Rich Crowe’s summative evaluation.
