Kenny’s Farmhouse Cheese of Austin, Ky., which is available at Capital Cellars, has won the 2012 American Treasures Award for its raw-milk cow cheeses, the company announced in a press release.
The annual award, given by Washington, D.C., non-profit Made: In America, recognizes individuals and small producers who preserve and foster a unique craft and tradition, the release says.
Kenny’s Farmhouse Cheese will receive the award for its farmstead cheese at the annual Take Pride in America celebration at the U.S. Capitol Wednesday. A tasting event will follow the ceremony.
