Pregnant woman taken to hospital after car slides off road

State Journal Staff Report Published:

A pregnant woman was taken to the hospital after the car she was riding in slid into a ditch Saturday evening.

Tim Satterly, of Frankfort, was rounding the curve at 641 Old Lawrenceburg Road around 5:30 p.m. Saturday when lost control of his car and ended up a ditch.

“We came around that curve and I just couldn’t stop,” Satterly said, as a tow truck pulled the car out of the ditch. “The roads were slick; I just lost control.”

Satterly and two other men in the car refused medical treatment, but passenger Jacqueline Dean, 18, was taken to Frankfort Regional Medical Center with leg pain. Satterly said Dean is pregnant.

Tim Vance, who lives in the trailer at 641 Old Lawrenceburg Road, said, with Saturday’s heavy rainfall, he “knew there’d be a wreck.”

“This is a dangerous road – there’s wrecks out here all the time,” Vance said in his driveway.

“I stepped in the house and heard that crunch. It’s the same sound every time.”

Franklin County sheriff’s deputies and Frankfort Fire and EMS responded to the wreck.
