Man arrested for White Light Diner burglary

Police able to find most of owner’s things

State Journal staff report Published:

A local man has been arrested for Tuesday’s Rick’s White Light Diner burglary.

Frankfort Police arrested 22-year-old Aarron Lamb of Frankfort on Friday and charged him with third-degree burglary.

Rick Paul, who owns the White Light on Bridge Street, said Saturday he’s relieved the alleged thief has been caught.

“They got most of my stuff back,” Paul said.

Surveillance footage from the diner’s security system caught a man breaking into the White Light and stealing several items late Tuesday night. The thief took electronics, cash, food and beer. Paul thinks the thief may have also made a sandwich, after he discovered grease on a grill and meat missing from a smoker the morning after the burglary.

Maj. Fred Deaton of Frankfort Police said Saturday that tips from several people led to the arrest. Paul put surveillance photos of the thief on the diner’s Facebook page, and Frankfort Crime Stoppers offered a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

“The public’s cooperation was instrumental in identifying the perpetrator in this arrest,” Deaton said.

Lamb is lodged at Franklin County Regional Jail on a $10,000 cash bond.

  • Isn't that Jerry Lambs son?

  • @ ema -- I don't see the headline you're referring to, but the art and skill of writing a headline is sometimes truncated by a looming deadline. If I were trying to write that into a 1-column space, the word "raided" would fit much better than "burglarized." But you're right, ema, "raided" tends to mean "blanketed with cops." ----- Trailblazer, I agree about getting him off the streets, even if for a little while. :o\

  • Alright...poor choice of word...arrest then. Still they probably will not see a thing as they did not call Crime Stoppers and obtain a code...instead they called city. Even though Crime Stoppers is managed by City police ranking officer and call is made to same dispatch even though it's a different number located at City Police. Article did not say you had to call Crime Stoppers directly...only in the "information leading to the arrest". Shouldn't matter either way...as long as they helped in getting individuals like this off the streets.

  • Good one, Steve. Kind of reminds me of the headline the SJ ran that said, Rick's White Light Diner was raided. Don't think that was a good choice of words for the reporter to use.

  • 'Abduction'? As Inigo Montoya would say, "I do not think that word means what you think it means." Perhaps 'arrest'?

  • The citizens who where instrumental in the abduction of this person should each be given a portion of the reward money.

  • Good job FPD.
