TOYOTA, SALATO PARTNER FOR NATIONAL PUBLIC LANDS DAY

Toyota employees will join other volunteers at the Salato Wildlife Center at 10:15 a.m. Saturday to assist with various improvement projects throughout the day in recognition of National Public Lands Day.

Scheduled speakers include Wil James, president of Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky Inc., and Benjy Kinman, deputy commissioner of the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources.

DEMOCRATIC WOMEN TO DISCUSS CONVENTION

The Franklin County Democratic Woman’s Club meets Sept. 18 at the State Democratic Headquarters, 190 Democrat Drive.

The topic of discussion will be the annual Kentucky Democratic Woman’s Club convention, which will be held in Frankfort Sept. 27-29 at the Capital Plaza Hotel.

All members are asked to attend this meeting and anyone is welcome.

HUMMINGBIRD PROGRAM SATURDAY

Carroll Young, a local ruby throated hummingbird enthusiast, will present a program about the birds beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday at Cove Spring Park.

The program, sponsored by the Department of Parks, Recreation and Historic Sites, is free and open to all ages.
