A woman was taken to the hospital this morning after a pickup truck hit her in a gas station parking lot.

The accident happened around 8:15 a.m. when the driver of a Dodge Dakota lost control of her truck as she pulled into a parking spot at Speedway on Louisville Road.

Frankfort Police Lt. Steve Sutton said faulty brakes prevented the driver from stopping. She struck a female customer who was leaving the convenience store, and she may have also hit the brick planters along the front of the building.

The victim was transported to Frankfort Regional Medical Center with injuries to her ankle or lower leg, Sutton said. Her spilled coffee and a donut were scattered on the sidewalk.

Police haven’t released the names of the victim or driver yet.
