Man charged with 3,000 child pornography images in home

Cybercrimes Unit has been investigating him since June

A Frankfort man has been arrested after investigators say they found 3,000 child pornographic images and videos at his home.

Edward L. Lewis, 45, was charged with four counts of possession of matter portraying the sexual performance by a minor after investigators from Attorney General Jack Conway’s Cybercrimes Unit searched his home Tuesday.

The charges against Lewis stem from an undercover investigation by the cybercrimes unit that began in June.

Lewis is at Franklin County Regional Jail on a $40,000 bond. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Franklin District Court at 11:15 a.m. Thursday.

  • When they are investigating, why do they wait until someone accumulates so much material to charge them with thousands of counts? Is one count not a felony? If he is buying this stuff, then someone is profiting and the rest of the money is being used to exploit more children. Seems like a faster bust would be more prudent.
