Man allegedly hit over head with skateboard, robbed

Police are seeking a suspect who allegedly ran up behind a male juvenile on Sept. 29, hit him five to six times on the head with a skateboard and stole his book bag.

Police responded around 10:40 p.m. to the robbery complaint on Meagher Avenue, according to a release. They found the victim with what appeared to be a severe laceration on the left side of his head. The victim was taken to the Frankfort Regional Medical Center for treatment by EMS. His condition was unavailable at press time.

A witness said the victim was crossing a field adjacent to the Meagher and Wallace Avenue intersection when he was attacked. The attacker then ran away and the witness lost sight of him. The victim’s book bag contained an unspecified amount of cash.

Police have an arrest warrant for Joshua Stigers, 18, of Frankfort. He has been charged with first-degree robbery in connection with the event. The investigation is ongoing.
