AWA PROGRAM TOPIC OF LECTURE

Sandra M. Trammell, an English instructor at Kentucky State University, will discuss the university’s Academics with Attitude program Friday as part of the Brown Bag Lunch Series.

Trammell is also director of the AWA program.

All talks are held on Fridays from noon until 1 p.m. in the Hathaway Hall Auditorium located on the first floor. The public is invited to attend the lectures.

Trammell will explore the nature of the AWA program, some of the available data, and reasons the university chose to develop a Quality Enhancement Plan. She will outline her perception of the program’s direction. 

Visitor parking will be available in the Red Lot next to the campus police station. On East Main Street, traveling toward downtown, turn left on Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd. Take the first left onto Cold Harbor Drive then take the second left onto Young Drive. The police station will be straight ahead. Walk through the tunnel to arrive at Hathaway Hall.

KSU HOSTS CANDIDATE FORUM TONIGHT

Kentucky State University has announced a candidate forum focusing on the relationship between Frankfort and the university.

The forum will be 6-8 p.m. tonight at Bradford Hall on campus.

Mayoral candidates Bill May and Kyle Thompson as well as the City Commission candidates will attend.

'CHRISTMAS PAGEANT' AUDITIONS TONIGHT

The Frankfort High School Drama Club is conducting community auditions for “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” at 7 p.m. tonight at the school. All children who are in grades 1-8 are invited to participate in auditions, which will consist of readings from the script.

GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP MEETS TONIGHT

Hospice of the Bluegrass will conduct a grief support group for adults who have lost a minor age or adult child within the last two years from 6-7:30 p.m. tonight in the Hospice Community Building, 643 Teton Trail.

SFNA MEETS OCT. 25

The South Frankfort Neighborhood Association is meeting Oct. 25 at the Investor’s Heritage Auditorium on West Second Street. A dinner and social hour will start at 6 p.m., and the meeting will be at 7 p.m. Joy Jeffries, executive director of the Frankfort/Franklin County Tourist and Convention Commission, will give an update on riverfront and development.
