Rand Paul expresses interest in presidential run

Published:

(AP) — U.S. Sen. Rand Paul has told ABC News that he’s interested in running for president in 2016.

But the tea party darling from Bowling Green said he’s not ready yet to make the decision.

Asked if he will seek the Republican nomination next time, Paul said, “It’s too soon to talk about who’s going to run and who’s not going to run.”

However, Paul said, “I’m not going to deny that I’m interested.”

Paul, the son of Texas Republican Ron Paul who ran unsuccessfully for the GOP presidential nomination this year, was elected to the Senate from Kentucky in 2010. He is one of several people being touted as early presidential contenders in four years.

  • Need4spped, that is not their heads exploding, them thar's what we like to call organasms...loud ain't they? .................................................................................................................................................................................................................. Please Lord, make Rand run. I wanna hear Rachel Maddow interview him a few more times on camera. But seriously, Rand, if you think that you are going to have even as much support as your Daddy, you're living in the delusional bubble of the right wing. And Rand, I guess that you also believe that nobody can tell that you are wearing a bad rug...huh?

  • On a clear night you can hear liberal heads exploding. That was worth the cost of the elctrons used

  • Pickin up where Dad left off. I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. "Nope make that a nut tree." If this is the best that the Republicans can come up with you can count on the Democrats winning again in 2016.

  • I hope so. Let's show how crazy he is on the national and world stage.
