Bus carrying SSS kids involved in minor wreck

State Journal staff report Published:

A bus carrying a group of about 50 third-graders from Second Street School was involved in a minor accident Tuesday afternoon in Lexington.

The bus was making a right hand turn and scraped against the side of a Jeep in the adjacent lane, Superintendent Rich Crowe said.

There are no injuries, he said, and police are investigating.

“All the kids are fine," Crowe said.

He said some students weren’t even aware anything had happened until the police arrived.

Crowe said the accident happened shortly after noon while the kids were on a field trip to the Lexington Children’s Theatre.
