The wait is finally over.

Franklin County High School senior wide receiver Ryan Timmons announced Tuesday he will play college football at the University of Kentucky this fall.

Timmons, who has been highly recruited by Kentucky, Florida, Ohio State, Arkansas, Illinois, as well as others, announced his decision at a press conference Tuesday at FCHS. National signing day is Wednesday.

On Monday night, the 5-foot-11-inch wide receiver revealed on Twitter that he’d narrowed his choices to Kentucky and Florida, and then later tweeted that he had made his final decision between the two.

“It’s final I’ve made my decision. After talking to my family I feel good about this and can’t wait to tell everyone tomorrow,” he said via the social networking site.

Timmons scored 43 touchdowns during his senior year for the Flyers, finishing with 1,225 yards rushing and 965 yards receiving. He averaged 23.4 yards per touch.

The senior is ranked by ESPN as the 249th overall player in the nation and fourth-best recruit in Kentucky.
