When it comes to buying a vehicle, it’s all about the local market.

Now, a link on state-journal.com is connecting local auto dealers with buyers.

CentralKYAuto.com is an “online inventory-listing platform” that gives car shoppers the freedom to browse participating Frankfort dealers’ entire inventory of vehicles from home or anywhere they have Internet access.

Nationally the average auto buyer drives a mere 18.8 miles to buy a vehicle.

But buyers with Internet access are willing to travel further – 27.3 miles on average. Connecting Frankfort’s automotive dealers with local car shoppers is critical, and that’s what CentralKYauto.com is designed to do.

Advertising representative Melissa Duckless brought her expertise in car sales to The State Journal in August 2012, and she is handling the advertising accounts for the site.

“As a former car salesperson, Melissa has the knowledge to work with local dealers to help drive more business to their dealerships,” said Lloyd Lynch, advertising director.

Participating dealers currently include Select Auto, Hurst Auto Sales, Glenn Toyota Frankfort, Bob Allen Chrysler Dodge Jeep, Crossroads Ford and Capitol Auto Park.

The site contains more than 900 vehicles along with their description, features, price and interior and exterior photos. Shoppers can search by dealer, body style, make, model and price.

The site is mobile-friendly, and it includes private party listings.

There are two ways to access the site. Visit www.state-journal.com and click “Autos” on the navigation menu, or go directly to CentralKYAuto.com.
