The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man and charged him with driving under the influence Tuesday night after he allegedly drove after his wife on her motorcycle after she became angry with him.
Loretta Marcum, 40, crashed her 2012 Harley Davidson motorcycle around 11 p.m., according to a release from the sheriff’s office. She was transported to UK Medical Center with head trauma and a fractured leg.
Her husband, William Marcum, 35, told deputies they had both been drinking at a local establishment when she got upset and left. He said he followed her to ensure she got home safely, and was first on the scene to give aid. A deputy smelled alcohol while getting a statement from him, and he was charged with DUI.
