The right lane of U.S. 127 will be closed beginning Thursday at 7 p.m. between the Kentucky River Bridge and Wilkinson Boulevard in Frankfort as part of construction to remove and replace the concrete pavement on this roadway.
Wilkinson Boulevard will also be closed at the intersection with Clinton Street during this work.
The closures will continue through June 26.
Motorists traveling on the portion of U.S. 127 known as the West Frankfort Connector will be restricted from turning right onto Wilkinson Boulevard. A signed detour will be in place via Clinton Street, Ann Street and West Broadway.
Motorists will be able to turn left from the West Frankfort Connector onto Wilkinson Boulevard or proceed to Clinton Street and access the downtown area.
The W.L. Harper Company of Hebron was awarded the $8.9 million contract for this project with construction scheduled for completion in October 2014.
